Student Project Aims to Fill New York Public Libraries Again
Three students from Miami Ad Schools all over the world came up with a brilliant idea while taking classes in Brooklyn and working together in a Greenhouse Internship at 360i in New York. San Francisco student Keri Tan (AD), Hamburg student Max Pilwat (AD) and Miami student Ferdi Rodriguez (CW) are trying to solve the public library crisis, 10 pages at a time.
The Underground Library is a concept that allows New York City Subway riders to access the first 10 pages of books that are available at their local public library. It is just enough to get a reader hooked and gives them the incentive to go to the library, sign up for a membership card if they do not have one, and check out the actual book to finish reading. Although it is a fictional student campaign, it is getting a lot of buzz.
